Cooking a Quiche With a French Friend
Follow a recipe with a friend in the kitchen: chopping, frying, measuring, tasting and calling everyone to the table.
French recipes measure in grams and millilitres, give oven temperatures in degrees Celsius (older ones use a « thermostat » number, where thermostat 6 is about 180 °C), and count spoons as cuillères à soupe or cuillères à café. Ready-made pâte brisée, lardons and crème fraîche are supermarket staples for a quick quiche. When the food is ready, the cook calls « À table ! » and everyone sits down together.
