Lost Your Phone in Paris? Get It Back

Ask around for a lost phone, block your SIM, report a theft and thank whoever hands it in.

Phones lost on the Paris metro or buses usually end up at the Préfecture de police's lost property office (objets trouvés) in the 15th arrondissement; elsewhere, ask the station staff or the mairie. If it was stolen, you file a complaint (porter plainte) at a commissariat or gendarmerie, or start a pré-plainte online, and keep the récépissé for your insurer. Call your operator (Orange, SFR, Bouygues Télécom, Free) to block the line and get a new SIM with the same number.
