Sun Cream and Sunburn on a French Beach
Buy the right sun cream, protect yourself at the beach and deal with a sunburn.
In France sun cream is sold in supermarkets and pharmacies, and the protection level is called « l'indice » (indice 50 = SPF 50). The French health advice is to avoid the sun between noon and 4 p.m. in summer and to reapply cream every two hours and after swimming. Pharmacists give free advice on burns and moles; to see a dermatologist with normal reimbursement you usually go through your GP first, and waits can be long.
