Condolences and Funerals in Spain
What to say when someone dies, at the funeral home, and in the weeks after.
In Spain things move fast after a death: the wake is held at a tanatorio, a funeral home, usually within a day, and the burial or cremation follows the next morning. People drop in to the tanatorio to give the family a hug and a short set phrase like 'te acompaño en el sentimiento'. The cards follow a colleague from the first phone call to her return to work.
