Hunting Country in Spain

Understand how hunting works in rural Spain, from licences and the season to boar hunts, safety and the stew afterwards.

Hunting is part of rural life in much of Spain: you need a regional licence after passing the hunter's exam, a gun licence from the Guardia Civil and compulsory insurance, and most land is divided into cotos with signs at the edge. On montería days walkers are warned to stay away, and wild boar coming into villages is a hot topic. The cards follow a weekend with your partner's hunting family in a village in Toledo.
