Singing in a Choir in Spain
Simple Spanish sentences for joining a local choir, rehearsing and getting ready for the first concert.
Many Spanish neighbourhoods have a coro or coral that rehearses one evening a week in a centro cultural, open to beginners for a small monthly fee. Few members read music; the director places you in a cuerda, your voice section, after a quick prueba. These sentences follow a beginner who joins a choir in Sevilla, survives the first rehearsal and sings in the end-of-term concert.
