Job Hunting in France
Get advice on your CV, call a recruiter about a job ad and handle the key interview questions in French.
In France, job seekers register with France Travail (formerly Pôle emploi) and browse offers on sites like Welcome to the Jungle, Indeed, LinkedIn or, for managers, the APEC. A one-page CV and a lettre de motivation are still expected, and a candidature spontanée (unsolicited application) is perfectly normal. Recruiters use vous, salaries are discussed as « brut annuel », and if you already have a job, your notice period (préavis) usually runs one to three months.
